I am as happy as happy can be. Because the Lord, He does provide. Blogging material, that is.
Queen B TAGGED me, and it’s monumental because, well, I’m a tagging virgin. It’s true. I’ve been saving myself, because you know, I just really wanted it to be with someone special.
Rocks in my Dryer tagged me once for “What’s on Your Refrigerator?” but she’s been around the block a few times I have a stainless steel frig, so there’s nothing on it. Stopping with this analogy now…. I don’t like the direction it’s headed. Not that I’m a prude or anything. Okay. Yes I am. I am a prude. There. I said it.
So, here we go. Seven *new* things. As in, not already on my 100 Things.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel here. But, I’ve got my creamer with a splash of coffee. So, let’s roll.
1. Queen B and I suspect we were separated at birth. It’s more than freaky. But in a good way. (As long as we like ourselves.) Except for her just wrong enthusiasm for Nascar and Pepsi products (oh Queen, I thought I knew you!), we’re the same person. The irony that she tagged me for this isn’t lost on me. I’ve been trying to get her to write her own 100 Things, but she didn’t think she could do it without incurring therapy expenses. However, seeing as she enjoyed writing seven, I think she could reasonably come up with 93 more. And maybe even enjoy it.
But I digress. This is about ME!
2. I’m a terrible babysitter. Unless we’re related by blood, someone is hospitalized or your husband’s in Iraq, you’re really taking the lives of your children into your own hands by leaving them in my care. Case in point, I’m on borrowed time writing this. My nephews are tied up in the closet watching tv and in the playpen playing with a bottle of Tylenol and a pacifier.
3. My highs are HIGH and my lows are LOW, and there are times I wish I was a little more, you know, stable even. I know there are pharmaceutics for it, but let’s be honest. The HIGHS and the LOWS? They make for terrific blogging. I’m just sayin’.
4. I can spot people who are oblivious to personal boundaries from great and impressive distances. And I run. Quickly. The other way. There are people who think I’m anti-social. But I’m not. I just don’t like them.
5. I don’t have the relationship I would love to have with my mom. While it’s been a painful realization, I just cannot choose for anyone but myself. And so, instead, I am learning how to be okay, when others choose not to be. And it sucks.
6. We’re adopting from China. Or so I’m told. Our “10-14 month wait” is currently at 20 months and counting. We probably have another two year wait, but do NOT get me started. It will never make sense. China is a Communist country, after all.
7. Nursing has been my favorite life experience. Other things rate pretty high, like sex. And birth. But nursing. Happy, happy times. There’s never been anything so fulfilling, so womanly. It made me feel complete. My daughter was a terrible nurser. We only lasted 6 weeks, and it is one of the major regrets of my life. But I made up for it with my son, who I nursed for 2 1/2 years – and only quit because hubby said we had to. To this day, we have such a close bond. He’s 9 and we still snuggle every day. I’d get pregnant again just to nurse. If I could, you know, do it without the parenting part.
There.
Was it as good for you as it was for me? Anyone need a cigarette? (Sorry. Couldn’t help myself.)
Actually, this turned out waaaaaay more serious than I imagined. But all the fun stuff – I’ve already posted to my 100 Things. And, I’m kind of boring anyway. Without even trying. It’s a gift.
Okay. Now for the rules:
1. Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog. (√)
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird. (√)
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs. (√) And I’m breaking this rule by tagging an 8th person. Because I want to. And because I can.
4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. (√)
I am tagging:
1. Kristen @ We Are THAT Family
2. Pixie @ The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
3. Heather @ Whittaker Woman
4. Attack of the Redneck Mommy
5. Jenni @ One Thing (assuming she’s not in LABOR!)
7. Melanie @ Big Mama
8. Heidi @ Frantically Simple
Back to work on my regularly scheduled post. Come back soon!

Ok. Have you tried NASCAR? I’m just thinking that you don’t need to be judging until you try it.
Queen B -
Now WHY would I try NASCAR?
It’s on my list.
(Of NEVERS!)
Which is a post for another time.
I got into a huge heap of trouble at work one time for taking the position that NASCAR is not a sport. Whooo boy.
You are HI-larious. I’m subscribing now.
Mmm’kay. WordPress does not like me. This is the SECOND time I’ve been asked to slow down with my commenting. HMPH. Let’s try AGAIN.
Hey, thanks for the tag! I’m working on it, and it should be up this week. You rock!!
