A Gift That Keeps On Giving

by Soliloquy on May 15, 2008

It’s only been six days since my birthday, so technically, it’s still my birthday week, right?

Y’all – you’ve GOT to see this. Lanxi forwarded this email to me from Love Without Boundaries. Sweet baby Ni was admitted on May 9th, MY BIRTHDAY, for medical care and preparation for heart surgery. Really, you can’t know how this touches me as I wait for my daughter.

Dear Lanxi,

Thank you so much for your donation and to your friend for having a birthday! I will use the money to care for a baby named Ni this month. She just arrived at Heartbridge on May 9th and will stay there until at least November when she will receive surgery from a specialist. Your money will go to provide her with room and board, careful attention from a trained Ayi (caregiver to child ratio is 1:3) and all the medical needs she has excluding the cost of the actual surgery.

On behalf of Ni thank you,

Wendy Petersen RN
Heartbridge Coordinator

Look at that precious child, whose only hope is Love Without Boundaries’ Heartbridge Unit. What great things does God have in store for this little girl?

Seeing her sweet little face reminds me of the many questions about my daughter. Who is she? Who are her parents? Does she have an older sibling? Is she born yet? Is she safe? Is she being loved? Where is she? Is her family anywhere near my brother in Shanghai? In the wake of the horrible earthquake this week in China, was her family was affected in any way? When will she finally come home to her loving family who will dote on her and lavish the love of her Heavenly Father upon her?

God hasn’t called us to special needs. Not that He won’t, but it’s not in our hearts right now. This child will very likely be adopted once she has received the medical attention she needs. Imagine. There could be a family waiting right now for Ni. But in the meantime, because of donations like Lanxi’s, sweet little Ni will be well-cared for and well-loved until she goes home.

In the meantime, I will be following her care via the Heartbridge blog and trusting that God will have His way with this ministry and these children.

Please remember how simple it is to contribute to Love Without Boundaries without any added expense to you. Amazon will donate 4% of your purchases to Love Without Boundaries if you link to them from the LWB website. My Amazon bookmark is set to the LWB website and I can quickly and easily link to Amazon from there.

On behalf of Chinese children without hope – this is the most precious gift. Thank you, Lanxi and thanks to your Hero, as well.

I am blessed!

Don’t you just want to smooch all over those fat little cheeks? Wish I could just go and hug all these babies. That would be the best job of all – baby hugger!

whaaaa? I can GIVE money just by shopping at Amazon? You mean something I already do weekly? What??? And I won’t have to deal with my husband questioning me about giving to charity (he cares- he just thinks there are a lot of scams out there)…oh my this is revelation. I am going to link there now thru the site and buy SOMETHING. May god bless this child. And may god be watching over yours as well…..oh who knows what he has in store for you!

(this song on your site makes me cry- EVRYTIME I come here. I miss my dad-4 years gone. I said what I needed to say…..oh- but I there is so much more to say now……lovely song. lovely…)

Cool! LWB is awesome and they have changed the lives of SO many orphans.
Just wanted to stop by and say I enjoy your blog. I was tagged with your meme, it was a nice diversion tonight after the kids went to bed tonight… got my mind off worrying about my little one who waits in China.
Blessings :)
