So here I am copying the meme idea – but the questions are original….. because we all need some fresh stuff, no?

It’s All True

Favorite person (outside family)? Comrade-in-Arms, because as of late, she has been Jesus-with-skin-on to me. She just blesses me with her authentic, humble heart for the Lord and the mercy that He is about. Plus, she makes me laugh and will get loaded have a glass of wine with me. GOOD stuff!

Favorite food? Fries. Sweet Potato Fries, Cheese Fries, Zucchini Fries. I’m not picky…. as long as they’re FRIED.

Quirks about you? I love to pick at stuff. It’s probably some issue from my childhood that has some significance, but it puts me into a trance and I can literally lose all track of time. I have this blanket with a binding that is awesome for running under my nails or along the pads of my fingers. Maybe that’s what wore off my stinkin’ fingerprints!!!

How would the person who loves you most describe you in ten words or less? (Ask them) Hubby said this about me: “You are a perfect blend of Queen Esther, Jane Austen, Julia Roberts, Annie Oakley, Sleeping Beauty and Olivia Newton-John.” (Wow. That was fun. I told you he could Spin!!)

Any regrets in life? Yes. I gave up nursing my daughter waaaaaay too early. (6 weeks.) Well-meaning people “encouraged” me to not feel guilty about quitting and now it’s my most major regret in life. For real. It’s one of those things that you just can’t get back in life without major social stigmas.

Favorite Charity/ Cause? Can I have two? (Why, yes, you may. You can break your own rules!) Dorcas Widows in Uganda and Love Without Boundaries (Chinese orphans).

Favorite Blog recently? June Cleaver Nirvana. Because her illustrations kill me. And I love how she refers to herself in the third person. Brilliant.

Something you can’t get enough of? Sex.(snort) Sleep. Fabric. I own sick amounts of fabric that I may never do anything with, but it makes me happy just to have it in my possession. It’s like a fabric fetish. Or something.

Worst job you’ve ever had? Working at a deli. I hated working with that meat slicer and mass quantities of food… I guess that’s why I also hated serving meals as a flight attendant. So not glamorous.

What job would you pay NOT to have? Housekeeping at a motel. Eeeeew.

If you could be a fly on the wall, where? The Days of Our Lives set. I’d move in if I could. I really would. And if I, as a fly of course, could somehow make it on screen, well that would be like my ultimate dream come true. I feel like those folks are family. I have welcomed them into my home and my heart for the last TWENTY years…… so I believe I’d feel quite comfortable there. Do NOT judge me!

Guilty Pleasure? Blogging. That’s rather obvious. But it’s also ironic, because I started it as an outlet, but sometimes it feels like a drain to keep it worth coming back to.

Got any confessions? (sigh) I feel really bad about being so honest about my mom. It really wasn’t my intention, but the Mother Breach left me with no real option. I really do care so deeply about her. I love her. I want it to be different. But it frustrates me to no end that we can’t get OVER. IT. ALREADY.

If you HAD to spend $1,000 on YOURSELF, how would you spend it? Purses. Nice ones. Real ones. Except that $1,000 would only buy one or two…… And there’s one in my closet, beckoning to me, calling my name….. but it’s not the end of the school year and it’s my “teacher gift” so I must wait. *sob*

Favorite thing about your house? All the southern exposure on a sunny day.

Least favorite thing about your house? Tight hallway upstairs.

One thing you are bad at? Estimating. I am terrible at judging how long it will take to do something. And I am terrible at judging quantities, particularly when it comes to food.

One thing you’re good at? Mercy. I can handle the truth and have the spiritual gift of mercy for humility and genuine need.

If you could change something about your circumstances, what? I’d be in a different house. One in a different school district and a pool in the yard. And a pool boy.

Who would you like to meet someday? My Chinese daughter. Hello already?! 22 months and counting with no apparent end in sight. Can I please just have her??

What makes you feel sexy? Being tan, but that will only be my answer until my elective surgery. (snort!)

Who is your real life hero? Kari Miller. Kari is a friend from junior high school. Her obedience to leave her cushy life behind and move to Uganda to love the least and left out wrecks me.

What is the hardest part of your job? When we’re done with school, the kids get bored and that translates to trouble. I spend way more time sedating and locking my kids in the closet mediating than I would like to.

When are you most relaxed? In Mexico around 4pm, after two margaritas and a full day of sun at the pool. All the cares of the world simply……….disappear…….. It’s a beautiful thing.

What stresses you out? Chaos, noise and lots of kids. Combine them and I’m a Betty Ford candidate.

What can you not live without? Worship music. One of my favorite things about our church is the kickin’ praise and worship. Not kidding. They bring it!

Do you agree or disagree with the recent article that reported that blogs are authored by narcissists? I’m losing sleep over this article… which I’ve only heard spoken of. If anyone can locate it, my psychiatrist I would like to read it. I hope it’s not true. I really need prefer to think of it as therapy.

Why do you blog? I’ve got a freakish brain that runs and runs and runs – and jumps all over the place with random thoughts, triggers and associations. Have I mentioned the ADD thing?? It helps me process it all, remember it all and find the humor in each day. Life is waaaaay more fun when you blog. And, if it blesses someone or draws them closer to Jesus in the meantime – yahoo!!
