Ever lost an engine in flight?
Ever stop ascending on take-off?
Ever been met by emergency vehicles upon landing?
Yeah. It happened. This morning. TO ME.
Hellooooo?
All that flight attendant experience was worthless came right back to me.
I’ve been in emergency landing situations before. But not when I had a husband and kids. And certainly not with said kids with me.
I’m not gonna’ lie. I was shaken. I kept it together for the kids – and my reputation.
Like, I knew it was really going to be okay. I really wanted it to be okay. I really wanted my kids to believe it was going to be okay.
But I was praying in tongues the whole way down.
If I’m really being honest, somewhere in the back of my mind, I was really okay for today to be the day I met my Savior. I knew it was going to be okay – but my mind just went there on its own.
That would have been awful for Spin….
But I’m just sayin’. It occurred to me.
Not one of us has a guarantee for the next hour of life.
Here’s a little levity for the situation. It’s only 2 minutes long. I guarantee you will pee your pants.
I’m off to get me a margarita thanks to the Meal Vouchers provided by Delta.
I’ll be drinking my lunch today, thank you very much.

oh wow, I would have been scared to death!
Something like this makes getting through the security screening seem like a piece of cake. I’d need a liquid lunch to be brave enough to walk on the next plane with my family after something like that.

Yuck! I love flying, don’t mind a little turbulence every now and then, but the downright scary stuff I could just do without.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww! I’ve always said that I’d want to throw up my hands and yell, “Faster, faster!!!!” and pretend it was just a fun ride at the amusement park if that happened to me. Really, I hope I’d be prayerful. What would really happen? Most likely I’d sit there with my lips clamped and my eyes HUGE in a complete overload…Glad you’re ok, Spin’s ok, and the little ones are, too!

For the life of me, I don’t know what’s up with trying to view your blog in Mozilla, but I have just about had it. Between my frustration with TypePad, and then not being able to leave comments here, I’ve just about been ready to unplug from the internet all together (well not really, I’d have to be in a coma, but even then I’d figure out a way to get back online) and leave a stinkin’ poop pressie on Bill Gates doorstep!
So I had to reinstall IE on my desktop, because I refuse to use the laptop (it discriminates against those of us with fat wrists), and now I can finally SEE your blog and leave comments.

Oh and yeah, I’m glad you didn’t crash. Because that would have been sad. And my world would have been devoid of all Soliloquy and lots of bloggy goodness.
