Everybody now – get your booties up outta’ that chair and gimme’ a quick Spin for the man that spins me right round, baby, right round.
This man is my heart, my soul, my world. He fills my days with love and life. He protects me, provides for me and offers a place of security and grace I have never known before. I don’t ever want to live my days without him.
Unfortunately, his parents are in town, so it will be a decidedly “Baptist” celebration weekend.
Yah – not exactly what he had in mind….. but he’s trying to keep his chin up.

Happy Birthday Spin! Hubs b-day is coming up in a few weeks. I also say this, Isn’t Spin, a grown adult? So if he wants to have what my boys call “mommy drinks” then I say go for it. Hub’s parents are also on the Baptist side of a celebration but they have also come realize that we are adults and responsible for our own actions.

As for the Baptist issue — ’tis true — my folks brag about the fact that “drink has never passed their lips,” so I am a closet boozer. I really liked the comment from Tonguu Momma…very funny. In the Baptist church that I grew up in: drinking = sin.
For me…it’s mostly just a matter of honoring my elders/parents while they are here.
We know they would be uncomfortable if I started slurping martinis from Soliloquy’s navel…so, we just choose to behave while they are around.
Perhaps I’m just a coward, but I’d really like to think it’s more about respect.
