Klassy. With a K.

by Soliloquy on August 1, 2008

SO MANY OF YOU told me that I should be using the word “classy” with a K. Particularly when I put up posts like Kissed by a Cowboy and the like.

This post is of the like.

blog readability test

Can I just tell you how hard I laughed when I saw this? I found the Quiz over at Carolina Mama, who earned a College Grad rating. (Guess she’s smarter than me. It’s probably true. Most people are smarter than me. Just ask Shauna and Heather.)

In my defense – you can thank me for not being too difficult to read. I live to serve you with my mindless drivel.

Yep, that’s me. Klassy.

And because I would never want to disappoint you with any lack of klassiness, I will segue into my Friday Brain Dump.

Things That Make Me Twitch

Yesterday, as I dressed for the day – I grabbed a pair of white underwear. Then a pair of military greenish shorts – and a black top. The black top required a black bra.

I’m not going to lie. I was bothered by the unmatched underthings…. but not enough to change.

Until about twenty minutes later. It was the longest I could last. I couldn’t do it, y’all. The underthings MUST match. I raced upstairs, stripped down and rectified the situation. I just knew I couldn’t get through my day being so out of sorts. Much less go out in public. Because what if I was in an accident???

I’m Not Brilliant

We’ve already established this. Painfully, I might add. For those of you requiring a more challenging read – I might recommend One Thing. Her vocabulary far exceeds my own.

New and Improved Ways to Sin

B*n & J*rry’s Chub*y Hub*y ice cream. Malted ice cream with fudge and peanut butter swirls and chocolate covered, peanut butter filled pretzels. (Please don’t ruin it for yourself by looking at the fat grams per serving.)

I’ll just go ahead and say “I’m sorry” and “You’re welcome” at the same time.

Stirrings of the Soul

Today marks the 2 year anniversary of our Chinese adoption paperwork being received and approved. I’m not just a little sad. I’m a LOT sad about it. It was never supposed to be this long.

I’m working on a post to commemorate this day, but I need to get through it first. We’re going out to dinner as a family. Not that any of us are in a particularly celebratory mood – but we can’t let today pass without marking it somehow. Somewhere out there is a family who needs us to raise their daughter. Our daughter. I just wish we could get to her sooner…..

I’d write something witty but now all I can think about is that ice cream.

Oh please, girl – I think you are just fishing for compliments, b/c you are brilliant! (teasing…’bout the fishing)

Drooling over the ice cream.

And sad about the anniversary being commemorated without a new daughter. That is sweet of y’all and well, my heart is mush.

Laughing out loud litterally about the underthings…drooling over the ice cream…and praying for your dear family about the little one.

That bloggy thing…it lies!!! I took it a while back…several times out of sheer curiosity, or perhaps it was morbid curiosity…at first it was an undergrad rating then high school level. Trust me, I am in NO way the writter that you are…I just enjoy spreading stories about my family. Chin up…we love you anyway!!!!

She has a blog-waiting4emily.blogspot.com and her friend also has one too…she’s also waiting for all the paperwork and whatnot to go through for her adoption…her blog is shpiruk.blogspot.com

Best of luck to you and your daughter…:-)

That ice cream sounds amazing! Definitely going to have to try it. Ice cream is one of my guilty pleasures and I have NO problem admitting it!

Soliloquy – I am truly sorry that the wait has been so long. Praying for you tonight…that it will all happen in His perfect timing. Hang in there, girl.

And WHY? must you tempt me with the ice cream? Seriously. It’s taken me 2 LONG months to lose a few pounds, but from the looks of that I would put it right back on in about 3.5 seconds.

Okay, I’m cracking up about your underthings issue! Seriously, I thought women’s underthings only matched in the movies!?! Watch me get into an accident now and it will make the news that I don’t wear matched underthings!

About your ‘elementary’ blog…. I’d MUCH rather read someone’s blog that is real and shares about their life. I’m too ADHD to read about reviews and all that other boring stuff! See! I’m pretty elementary too! Stuff is a good word.

Since I’ve just found your blog I don’t know what all is going on with adopting. But, I do hope your family is complete soon. :)

Oh, Soliloquy… our two year anniversary was so very difficult, too. Hugs to you on this day. There are really no words that I can share.

As to the rate your reading level… a couple of months ago I earned a genius label. Now I’m at college (post-grad). Give me another six months and I’ll be down to the high school level. Another six years, and perhaps I’ll be at pre-k. That’s what I used to teach anyways.

You are klassy. And smart. That’s with an S… :D

And funny. That’s with an F. Not a Ph. I understand from the younger generation that Phat and Fat DO NOT mean the same thing.

So I need you to know that I mean Funny with an F.. unless Phunny is better and if it is, then you’re that.

(I’m also doing a really good job at making myself not look so smart.)
