Sisterhood

by Soliloquy on October 20, 2008

Something unique happened this weekend in Dallas. A sisterhood was born. And I learned something new about my blogging. This is the new thing God told me He would do last year. And like everything else He has created, I know that it is good.

I flew alone to Dallas to meet five perfect strangers. And I left with five new sisters. The whole weekend was like a glow of something new and yet familiar all wrapped into one. How can we be so different and so alike all at the same time?

As I expected, everyone was who I expected them to be. The transparency that blogging provides brought us together. We knew we got each other and liked each other enough to want to meet.

You know how when you meet someone new it takes time to find a comfort level with them? It takes to establish a history with them before you reach a point where you know what you can and can’t do or say around them?

Well, there was NO inhibition this weekend. We shared the same sense of humor and boldness to just be who we are. And have FUN doing it. We mocked each other, joked openly, played practical jokes on one another and no one got offended. It was just good times.

As promised, a few pics.

Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar

(L to R: Holly, Shauna, Suzanne, Straight Shooter, Marcy)

Sam Moons

Overpriced pedicures (but there was WINE!)

Shopping at Lush (a fitting place to love)

There were gifts….. (And did I mention wine?)

…..girly things

…. matching t-shirts

….quotable quotes, inside jokes and tons of memories.

Sniff, sniff. I knew better to have looked at this post. But I like to torture myself with what could have been.

I don’t care if the sky is falling next time. I’m so going.
