Because You're Dying to Know

The Christmas tree is most definitely NOT up.

The Christmas lights on the other hand?  Done.

We have a Griswold thing goin’ on with mismatched lights…. some of them twinkle, others do not.  I supposed if I cared that much I’d do something about it myself.  But that would require …. motivation, which I happen to be short on recently. Okaaaay – for six months.  Sue me.

Every ounce of my energy is being reserved to prevent a certain freak from putting up a certain tree. It’s November 12 – hm, the 17th anniversary of the car accident that incapacitated me from my job as a glamorous over-worked, underpaid, under-age, lonely flight attendant.  Good thing for car accidents. – Where was I?  November 12th?

Yes, November 12th.  So far, I have succeeded in keeping my house gloriously tree-free for 3 days longer than last year. Impressed? Don’t be. Spin was in New York Monday thru Wednesday this week.

It actually occurred to the funny-me to turn that tables on him and have the tree up when he got home.  But then the real-me considered the motivation it would require.

This weekend will be the true test.  I’d better get my errands done and be rested up by tomorrow so I can stay on full alert.  If that tree goes up any earlier than the weekend before Thanksgiving – which I consider both overly sufficiently early as well as quite generous – I will have failed.

And don’t think I won’t be in a sleeping bag at the threshold of the storage room.
