I really like having prescriptions filled at the Target pharmacy, and when I say ‘like’, I really mean, “Ooh! Target! Yes, please!” and I’m in a rush to get there.
For some reason, Target never feels like an errand. I mean, I have to go to the grocery. I have to go to the post office. I have to go the dry cleaner. I have to go to the liquor store.
But I get to go to Target.
Why is that?
That was a rhetorical question. And since God only knows why, it’s on my list of things to ask Him when I get to Heaven. I can’t begin to surmise His answer, but I’m looking forward to finding out.
But I’m waaaay ahead of myself. In fact, I’m about as far ahead of myself as I could possibly get.
While I’m still here on Earth, I am choosing to believe that because of God’s everlasting love and great mercy, He gave me Target. I really do. Every time I’m there, I feel the love.
Everything is better about Target’s pharmacy. The atmosphere, the cute little red bottles, even the pharmacists – which totally stands to reason, right? If you were a pharmacist, wouldn’t you prefer to work at Target?
I love anyone who can dispense drugs them all but Mimi is my favorite pharmacist. Mimi knows enough about me to make her silence worth something.
For example, one day I was in and she said, “I hope this does the trick and you’re feeling better soon.” To which I replied, “If this doesn’t work, someone’s going to have to take me out back and shoot me.”
She understood without me having to tell her why. It’s her job to know what each medication is for.
It’s all coming together now. The drawing power is a religious experience! If Target is a little like Heaven on Earth, then Mimi must be a little like God.
She knows things about me that I didn’t tell her and she can give me drugs that heal me.
Love and mercy.
I may not have to ask God about it after all.

A sense of humor? Well, He created us, didn’t he? In my opinion, that pretty much answers that question.

he does. there’s no other way to explain many of the things that have happened in my life including the fact that He chose developers to put the ONLY Target we have here?
All the way across town.
I can see that as one of two things…. I’ve done something to make Him mad or He has a sense of humor…

I live an hour away from the closest Target. I’m guessing I can kiss goodbye any chance I might have had for a visit from you, huh?
And God has a sense of humor – I firmly believe it. And I imagine he laughs at/with me quite often.

Oh Target Pharmacy! How I love thee! My favorite are the colored rings around the nifty upside down bottles. How clever! When it was just Zachary, I would make the trip inside, but now that I have 2 toddlers…well, drive thru is my best friend.

I know the Lord has a sense of humor. Because he looks at me and says, SERIOUSLY! Did she just do that AGAIN!! What was she thinking, clearly she wasn’t. Let me just remind her who is in charge! And you know what, I’m thankful he has a sense of humor.

I totally understand. There is something addictive and attractive between women and Target. Not sure what it is yet, but one day I will find out.
