Unsubscribe or Hate Me. Your Choice.

I’m hard at work weeding through old posts.  Some of it doesn’t deserve to be republished. Some of it needs to be republished and password protected.  And the rest of it needs to be unmarked ‘Private’ for your viewing pleasure.

I was kind of dreading the process of wading through two years of writing… but it’s energizing!  I love these memories!  I’m so deliriously happy to have them documented.  Why did I ever stop writing?  Because truth be told?  I don’t think it was good for me.

There’s something to be said for producing a body of work.  I’ve been a bored housewife for this past year keeping myself busy with the mundane.  I’ve taken care of the house, helped run the laundry, done the shopping and errands, carpooled kids, assisted with homework, refereed spats, soothed emotional dilemmas and let the damned dogs in and out all the live-long day…  with nothing to show for it.

Nothing to show for it, I tell you.

It’s flat out depressing.

I know it’s not nothing.  At most, I know my investment in my family has been the most worthwhile thing I’ll ever do.  At worst, I’ve saved my husband a fortune in household help.

But writing enhances my life with levity and color.  The break was long enough to learn that whether it’s blogging or plastic surgery, the investment in myself is not to be underestimated.

Heh.

On that note, unless you want to hate me for clogging up your reader this weekend, you may want to unsubscribe until Monday.  I’ll have it all cleaned up by then.
