After several months of contemplating this decision, the time has come for me to bid She Just Had To Say It a fond farewell.

A very fond farewell.

Mixed emotions have kept me from this decision for a while now, but I’ve landed in a very confident place around it and know that the time is right.  This little place to call my own has been a valuable part of my life for two years, but my heart just isn’t in it anymore – not because I don’t love it, but because God is doing a new thing in me and I need to make time and space for it.

Today was Nina’s last day of school and Stink is out tomorrow so the end of the school year seems an appropriate time as any to close up shop.

Summer is upon us but one look at our calendar would tell you there’s no end in the foreseeable future to our frenzied pace.  Company, travels, sports and camps – it’s all fun stuff – but the trouble with fun is that it seems to make time sprout wings and fly.  I need to make a concerted effort to slooooow down and simplify lest all the fun be reduced to little more than a blur.

But there’s one thing more that I Just Have To Say.

While blogging has been a worthy and personally rewarding pursuit, it was each of you, dear readers, that made it matter.

From the thrill of occasional de-lurkers to clandestine rendevous with “freaky internet friends” to every meaningful comment from my regular readers to the priceless irl friendships I’ve made, I will carry lasting memories in my heart and offer my humble thanks for sharing this stretch of my life’s journey.

Thank you for laughing at with me and letting me be cynical real.  I cannot articulate how grateful I am to have had this place to focus my creative energies on becoming.  Words simply fail.
